Having a good day.

Today's been very weird and exciting all at once. I have had so many coffee connoisseurs coming in and trying our coffee. This is great but unfortunately sometimes when I find out who people are and if I know that, well lets just say I can get nervous and make a coffee which isn't so great.
This is the time when I need to dig deep and pull of perfect latte art such as a rosetta(the leaf).

This also more importantly needs to be a full flavoured well extracted espresso coffee. Anyway my guests understood I was nervous and being the nice guy I am let one of them try out my machine, grinder and tamper. Now I wouldn't normally do that but I do have a back ground associated with this guest and their family, so I offered it. Thank God! Because he extracted and made a beautiful coffee and in doing so tried my coffee at it's truly deserved level.
He was surprised and shocked at how good our Platino Blend was. His words were, "I think this coffee is better than the specialty coffee I am using".
Wow, what a compliment! Especially after the mistake I made under those nerves........now I am having a great day.

The other great part of my day is having ordered a toaster/salamander off ebay yesterday morning by 9am and having it arrive by 8.30am this morning. We also got a sandwich press as well for today. We have done so many more pizza slices and sandwiches(toasted of course) today.

So I must get going as I am well behind my work with all that has gone on. Bye

Art Day

Today has been quite busy in the Espresso Bar and because Cafe Biz is doing a competition on their Facebook page it has me mucking around doing coffee art. My poor customers, waiting patiently for their coffee whilst I take a photo. It has been a productive day though. I have a new art design called the little Maori which is inspired by Wayne from Wild Things Creations and also my new Kiwi flatmates.

I have also done some nice tulips, hearts and rosetta's check out our facebook photo's for a few of these.

I thought I'd order a toaster so we can do toasted ham & cheese croissants and sandwiches etc.

Other than that I haven't done much more.

I have been working on a coffee roasting journal today. This is to obviously perfect our coffee roasting here at Silipo Coffee. Also one day I would like to take on a coffee roasting apprentice or possibly write a book. It is so hard to find information on this subject. Lucky enough I had a good one-on-one tuition with a Roast Master yesterday afternoon which is very experienced which has helped me no end.

Better go until next time. Keep Safe!

Oops!

Was blogging this morning and got busy, as usual. So after I got back from delivering the coffee beans and seeing some new clients I arrived to find my blog gone....
Hmmm I see. Got to save from now on.

I'll try and fill you in next time on what should have been this time until then. Ciao

Blog time!

Ok, so I haven't been blogging enough. I know, but I am so busy at work it slips my mind. Also I have this thing in the back of my head telling me not everyone wants to always know about coffee.
So to keep myself interested and you out there I have decided to blog, like its part personal diary, part coffee.
Like at the moment I'm eating a egg and lettuce sandwich whilst trying to type with one hand. This is probably faster than using two hands anyway. Next job for the day is posting a picture on the cafe biz facebook page of my bean art I'll post a pick so you understand.
I'm proud of this art piece as it took 8 months to complete, around ten thousand coffee beans and a hell of a lot of glue and patience. But it looks good and is now the front focal point in our Espresso Bar.

Here are the photo's let me know what you think?

Any how gotta get back to work so I'll write some more next time. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later, this time.
